Dear friends and colleagues:
We got off to a great start last Wednesday as we shared our reading and our ministries one with another around the tables. The Steering Committee has responded to the discussions shared with us. Our theme this year will be "HOPE: The church faces today's great challenges (the economy, war & peace, poverty, human exploitation, etc.)." Our first book of the new year will be our new President's book, The Audacity of Hope. Paperback copies (free to all) will be available in the Ministers Council office by early next week (a notice will be sent out when they arrive). Future book selections supporting the theme may be recommended to the Committee anytime.
Our meeting schedule is as follows (all free catered luncheons in the Side Dining Room from 12Noon until 1:00p.m.):
We hope to have a couple of special guests lead us later in the year. We are seeking another grant through the National Ministers Council.
Finally, 2009 dues need to be given to Jamie Munro, our Treasurer (C-209).
Let's go over our usual 30+ members and demonstrate our loyal support for this fine ministry of the Ministers Council.
