JERUSALEM COUNCIL CONTRIBUTIONS

The funding grant for this process bears the challenge that constituent Ministers Councils and interested persons will contribute an additional $5,000 to underwrite the costs. Please pray about your financial support of these essential conversations. Checks may be made out to and mailed to the Ministers Council.

The Jerusalem Council project for a body in disagreement, based on Acts 15 and first envisioned at Senate 2004, is launched. Saints of the American Baptist Churches who are senior statespersons and respected leaders among us have accepted the invitation to facilitate Jerusalem Councils around the country. Ellen Morseth, a group spiritual discernment consultant who has worked with the Senate and the ABC General Board, has designed the process and will train facilitators on November 5. Please pray for everyone involved that day.

The Ministers Council developed a grant request for funding of the project and the request was honored by a grant of $50,000. The contribution is accompanied by a challenge that constituent councils offer a total of $5,000 as sign of your investment in the Jerusalem Council project. Individuals may of course contribute as well. Checks may be made payable to The Ministers Council and addressed to the office.
