Shalom Reverend Mark-
On behalf of Congregation Ahavas Achim, we want to wish you todah rabah, a great thank you for opening the doors of the First Baptist Church to our congregation for Yom Kippur. It provided a welcoming and warm space for the Jewish community while we were temporarily unable to use our building.
There was ample parking space, a comfortable sanctuary, and rooms for childcare and babysitting. While we could not be in our synagogue facility, this served our needs and provided an appropriate atmosphere for the community during the High Holy Days.
The opportunity to be in another house of worship demonstrated the friendship and support that the various communities of faith can share in our world. We hope that the generosity of the Baptist Church will serve as an example to our community and world as a way in which we can work together to overcome prejudice and promote fellowship. The majesty and mystery of our world attests to its holiness, and our faith is strengthened by this generosity.
If your congregation should ever need assistance or a temporary home, please know that Congregation Ahavas Achim is a friendly and welcoming place and would be open to the church community.
In peace and blessing.
