A word from the pastor:
As we come to the Annual Church meeting I will be finishing 13 years of ministry with you. The end of June will bring us one month into the 14th year. This is about one third of my ordained ministry. We have shared many joys and sorrows together. I still believe the best years of the church are ahead for this congregation. As you contemplate the future here at Roger Williams it is my hope and prayer that the vision for a vital growing congregation will continue to compel each of you to do all you can in financial and spiritual support; to give all you can of your time and resources for the on-going work that will make a difference in this community and for Christ’s Kingdom.
I will always love you. Each one of you will be in my prayers as well as the overall welfare of the Church.
I commend the present leaders and those you will elect at this annual meeting for the good work they are about to do. Be mindful of the many resources you have in one another and through our ABCORI family. Dr. Donald Rasmussen, our Executive Minister, will be available to work with you. Listen to him; he will have good advise. Ask your questions, and most of all; be willing to try something new if it has credibility. I believe that there is a bright future for this congregation.
Thank you for your faithfulness and support over these many years. We have weathered a few storms and experienced some great times together. We all can say I remember when…or I remember the time….
As I go from here, Lord willing, there will be continuing ministry in pulpit supply and interim work.
I look forward to worshiping with my wife Nancie on occasion. As Nancie said to many of you on Sunday April 27th this has been the first time in many years we have worshiped together when we were not on vacation.
As I will no longer be your pastor after the First of July, I remind you that according to the ethical standards I hold as minister of the Gospel that I will not be available as pastor or counselor. I hope to always be your friend but it will soon be time to think of and support the servant that God will bring to you in the office of pastor.
Sincerely in His Love,
Carlos W. Mooney
