STRONG CONSTITUENT COUNCILS ARE FOCUS
OF MINISTERS COUNCIL SENATE
Greenlake, WIS -- To support regional councils, the Senate devoted significant energy and time to the creation of an online manual that provides extensive resources for regional councils and local ministry. Dr. Dee Dee Turlington, pastor of First Baptist Church of Westfield, N.J., led the process in shaping the manual and introducing the senators to the rich array of materials available.
To help the ministerial leader be more effective in congregational life, the Ministers Council Senate is committed to the formation of strong regional councils that are effective in supporting the ministerial leaders in their places of ministry.
Strengthening constituent councils is one part of a three part strategy being implemented by the Ministers Council for the resourcing of ministerial leaders. The other parts of the strategy include the encouragement of face to face collegial covenant groups that meet monthly, funded by two grants from the Lilly Endowment and a continuing pattern of national conferences for ministerial leaders offered every other year opposite the ABC USA biennials.
