The Rev. Dr. Reid S. Trulson became the Executive Director of International Ministries in December, 2006. He graduated from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis with a B.S. degree in History and from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California with M.Div and D.Min degrees. From 1971-72 he worked with Scripture Union in Scotland and Ghana, West Africa. Reid was ordained at Friendship Baptist Church, the oldest African American Baptist Church in Pasadena, California, where he served as Minister of Christian Education. Moving to Wisconsin he served First Baptist Church of Antigo and Underwood Memorial Baptist Church of Wauwatosa. During his twenty-three year pastoral ministry, Reid was President of the Wisconsin Baptist State Convention (now ABC of Wisconsin) and a member of the ABC General Board. For eight years he was a member of the Board of International Ministries, serving two terms as its president. From 1995 – 2000 Reid and his wife Janelle served as American Baptist missionaries to Europe, living in Austria and the Czech Republic. He then served for six years as Area Director, overseeing American Baptist missionaries and mission work in Europe and the Middle East, initiating and building partner relationships with 51 European and Middle Eastern Baptist Unions. Reid and Janelle have two daughters. They live in Collegeville, PA and are members of Royersford Baptist Church in Royersford, PA.
Since August 1991, the Rev. Dr. Aidsand Wright-Riggins III has served as the executive director of National Ministries. Additionally, he is chief executive officer of Judson Press, the publishing arm of American Baptist Churches USA. His passion has led National Ministries to commitments of encouraging discipleship, engaging in mission and transforming the soul of a nation. He describes the full scope of National Ministries’ mission as including evangelism and emancipation, spiritual formation and social justice, church planting and community transformation. Wright-Riggins received his D.Min. from The Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University, Richmond, Va. He has done postgraduate and doctoral studies at Claremont School of Theology and Palmer Theological Seminary. He received his M.Div. at American Baptist Seminary of the West and an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Benedict College. He has served as pastor at Macedonia Baptist Church in Los Angeles, director of Peace with Justice Ministry, Southern Christian Leadership Conference of Greater Los Angeles, new church planter, New Community Baptist Church, Lynwood, Dean of The Ecumenical Center for Black Church Studies and adjunct professor of Philosophy and Homiletics, University of La Verne, La Verne, all in CA. Wright-Riggins is married to the Rev. Betty Wright-Riggins, a member services representative for The Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board. He is a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Penllyn, Pa., where he is active in men’s ministries.
