Dear friends and colleagues:
The Valley Forge Ministers Council luncheon meeting will be on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at noon in the Side Dining Room. Please reply to this email to reserve your luncheon place (reminder: no charge). Our speaker will be our invited guest:
Dr. David Wilcox, Professor of Biology at Eastern University in St. David’s, PA;
Author of God and Evolution: A Faith-Based Understanding, Judson Press -- "There is a way for God to be both our God – the God of the Bible and the God of Christian faith – and the God of so-called cave men and dinosaurs. Part of the purpose of this book is to present and defend this position — to suggest new ways of looking at old things, to offer a perspective of faith that does not ignore facts or compromise scientific integrity." — David L. Wilcox
We are reading this quarter's book, St. Benedict's Toolbox by Jane Tomaine (free to all on a first-come, first-served basis). Pick up your free copy in Kate Harvey's office (we have plenty!) and sign the list next door in Sue Sechrist's office. We again thank the Valparaiso Institute for this extension of our original grant through the end of this calendar year. Hope to see you there!
All are welcome whether you are a member or not, but we do encourage you to join us officially. We had 34 of us pay our 2007
dues this year (the highest number in recent memory)! We will start collecting our 2008 dues in January (see Jamie Munro).
Blessings,
Rick Harris
President, Valley Forge Ministers Council
